The Builders Association of the Twin Cities’ (BATC) parent organization, the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), has elected Craig Plekkenpol, a Life Director (permanent voting member) of NAHB.
To be eligible as a NAHB Life Director, members must have served as a voting director for ten years, have attended at least two board meetings annually as well as receive a recommendation from their local association (BATC).
“We were very proud to recommend Craig to NAHB,” remarked David Siegel, BATC Executive Director. “He has a keen understanding of the remodeling industry and the challenges of doing business in todays economy, both important assets to serve as an NAHB Life Director.”
Plekkenpol has been in business since 1970, and active at BATC and NAHB most of that time. He served as BATC’s President in 2002, and on its Executive Board of DIrectors as Past President’s Representative in 2010. Plekkenpol Builders, Inc., is located in Bloomington, and is one of the largest remodeling firms in the region. Both BATC and NAHB benefit greatly from Plekkenpol’s talents and commitment to a healthy building and remodeling industry locally and nationally.
“The success and scope of NAHB is largely due to the dedication and hard work of members of its board of directors such as Craig,” said NAHB Third Vice Chairman Tom Woods. “By giving up time with their own businesses and families, NAHB’s life directors are instrumental in helping further NAHB’s work to advance housing opportunities for all Americans.”
