ROSEVILLE, MINN. (May 2019) — Visitors to the Artisan Home Tour will help support the BATC-Housing First Minnesota Foundation, the charitable arm of BATC-Housing First Minnesota. A portion of proceeds from each Artisan ticket sold will be donated to the Foundation to help continue their good work.
For more than 20 years, the Foundation has tapped the talents and resources of BATC-Housing First Minnesota member builders, remodelers and suppliers to help families who otherwise might not have the opportunity to have a safe and affordable home. The Foundation works in partnership with others to provide safe, durable, affordable housing for Minnesota’s homeless, veterans and others in need.
2018 Projects
APARTMENTS FOR WOMEN IN RECOVERY
Renovated an eight-unit apartment building in Minneapolis for women undergoing chemical dependency treatment. Avivo makes it possible for their children to live with them while they take on this difficult work of recovery.
A HOME FOR OUR HEROES
Built a five-bedroom home in Maplewood to serve as a temporary haven for homeless veteran women. This home is operated by the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV).
HOUSE OF HOPE
Fully restored the House of Hope in Bloomington for Emmaus Lutheran Church. This small parsonage now serves as a safe space for at-risk mothers and will change lives for years to come.
SCHOLARSHIPS
Addressing the labor shortage in the homebuilding industry through its scholarship program. More than $80,000 has been awarded to students pursuing degrees in the trades. These shining stars are our future artisan craftspeople, builders and remodelers.
