About Housing First Minnesota
As Minnesota’s trade association for residential builders, remodelers, developers, and building industry suppliers, Housing First Minnesota represents the housing industry with a mission of helping its members grow their businesses through marketing, advocacy and industry connections. Housing First Minnesota’s advocacy efforts work to educate and partner with council members, mayors, legislators, regulators and policymakers on policies to create a strong housing market. Housing First Minnesota strives to keep market-based homebuilding and remodeling affordable so Minnesotans can continue to achieve the American dream of homeownership.
Housing First Minnesota has presented the Parade of Homes℠ to the region since 1949 and the Remodelers Showcase® since 1984. These popular and free home tour events showcase the variety and opportunities available in new homes and remodeling for families across the extended metro region. Launched in June 2014, Housing First added the Artisan Home Tour℠, a ticketed tour of high-end homes, to their consumer offerings.
Additionally, Housing First Minnesota offers Minnesota’s Green Path, a growing new home and remodeling energy labeling and certification program to promote healthy, durable, energy-efficient homes to buyers and homeowners.
About the Housing First Minnesota Foundation
The charitable arm of Housing First Minnesota, the Housing First Minnesota Foundation, in affiliation with HomeAid America, is a nonprofit organization that builds and remodels transitional housing for Minnesotans in need.
The Housing First Minnesota Foundation has a 25-year history of building futures through housing. By leveraging the talents and resources of Housing First Minnesota’s builders, remodelers, suppliers, and volunteers, we are able to build dignified housing for people in crisis in our community.
One of the Foundation’s major funding sources is the Parade of Homes Dream Homes, with other funding from the Artisan Home Tour, Housing First Minnesota builder partners, member donations, cash donations and grants.
