ROSEVILLE, MINN. — This spring, the public has an opportunity to help area families in need when they visit the Remodeled Dream Home during the Parade of Homes Remodelers Showcase April 8-10. When visitors tour this beautifully remodeled home, they are asked for a tax-deductible $5 admission, which supports work of the Housing First Minnesota Foundation, the charitable arm of Housing First Minnesota. The Foundation builds, remodels and repairs homes for Twin Cities veterans and families in need, often in partnership with local charities and organizations.

The thousands of people who contribute $5 to tour the Dream Homes during the Remodelers Showcase and the Parade of Homes tour are a major source of funds for the Foundation.

Tickets to tour the Remodeled Dream Home is available online at ParadeofHomes.org, in the Parade of Homes app and at the home. An all-access pass to tour all five new Dream Homes, plus the Remodeled Dream Home can be purchased online at ParadeofHomes.org.

This spring’s Remodeled Dream Home is:

#R24 by Plekkenpol Builders, Inc.
6408 Parkwood Road
Edina, MN 55436

When undertaking an ambitious remodel of their classic Edina home, the owners wanted to create a home that was comfortable and family-friendly, spacious and practical, but also showcased designer touches, vibrant patterns, and unexpected details for a modern take on traditional style.

The kitchen, dining room, family room, mudroom, powder room, and all three upstairs bathrooms have been updated and remodeled, resulting in a unique and lively space, customized for a busy family.

The uninspiring kitchen was brought to life with a midnight blue island, polished quartz countertops and vibrant red lanterns. The sink, oven and range were relocated to create a more efficient work triangle.

To make the home more family-friendly, new French doors were added in the dining room, providing access to the backyard. The dining room was opened to the front hall and entry to create a more open floor plan.

In the family room, custom built-ins allow for a larger television. The mudroom features soft blue lockers, built-in bench seating and a new main-floor washer and dryer. Upstairs bathrooms, including a Jack-and-Jill bath and a nanny suite, have been fully remodeled as well.

Safety Note: Our highest priority remains everyone’s health and well-being. As you tour, please follow the updated guidelines at ParadeofHomes.org.

The 2022 Spring Parade of Homes Remodelers Showcase is sponsored by Marvin and LP Building Solutions.
