The Builders Association of the Twin Cities (BATC) is pleased to be hosting a News Conference on Monday May 12, 2014 as ground is broken for the much-anticipated remodel of the KARE 11 Backyard. Local notaries and dignitaries will be on hand with KARE 11 Meteorologist Belinda Jensen, the KARE 11 News and Management team, and BATC leadership and partners as the process of deconstructing the current backyard begins.

What: Ground Breaking for a complete rebuild of the iconic KARE 11 Backyard

Where: KARE 11, 8811 Olson Memorial Highway, Minneapolis, MN 55427

When: 4:30 pm (On-air ground breaking during 5:00 pm broadcast), May 12, 2012

Why: The BATC and KARE 11 Partnership and Backyard rebuild will demonstrate the exceptional quality of the area’s builders, remodelers and related industries in the design and construction of outdoor living spaces.

BATC has partnered with KARE 11 to completely rebuild their iconic Backyard. Association partners have been secured and will focus on creating outdoor rooms including a living room/hearth area with a stone fireplace focal point, an outdoor kitchen and mudroom; a soothing water feature; heated outdoor flooring to ensure a safe area for KARE 11 meteorologists no matter the weather; and green elements including a “living garden wall.”

Construction of the new Backyard will continue through the summer and the new space will be revealed to the public as part of BATC’s Parade of Homes℠ and Remodeler’s Showcase® Fall Tours in September.
