The BATC Foundation with build partner Lennar and their trade partners will hold a groundbreaking ceremony to launch their latest charitable project—the construction of a brand-new home that will be donated to the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV). The home will be MACV’s first home that can support not only veterans who are experiencing homelessness, but house their families along with them.

Please join representatives of the BATC Foundation, build partner Lennar and their trade partners, MACV, Dayton’s Bluff Neighborhood Housing Services, and Rebuilding Together Twin Cities as we kick off a building blitz that will provide MACV with a desperately needed home for military families in crisis.

WHEN: Monday, June 26, 1-2 pm

LOCATION: 1654 Minnehaha Ave. E. Saint Paul, MN 55106

WHO:  There will be several organizations participating and making remarks during the groundbreaking ceremony including: representatives of the BATC Foundation, build partner Lennar, MACV, Dayton’s Bluff Neighborhood Housing Services, Rebuilding Together Twin Cities, plus other government officials.

WHAT: Build partner Lennar will be building a new, 5-bedroom single-family home that will be owned and operated by MACV. The home will be used to house veteran-headed families for many years to come. While in the home, residents work with MACV case managers to overcome their housing, employment, and legal barriers. This critical program gives homeless veterans the support and confidence to once again find success. This will be the first home of MACV’s that is capable of housing veterans together with their families.

BACKGROUND:

BATC Foundation: The BATC Foundation is a nonprofit organization, composed of members of the Builders Association of the Twin Cities (BATC). The BATC Foundation taps the talents and resources of BATC members, builders, remodelers, and suppliers, often in partnership with other local charities and organizations, to provide safe affordable housing for people in need.

Lennar: Lennar, named the #1 Homebuilder in the Twin Cities for 11 consecutive years with 30+ communities in the Twin Cities, continues to lead the way in new home construction by building exceptional neighborhoods with extraordinary homes, desirable upgrades and energy efficient features in their “Everything’s Included” designs. Lennar puts the focus on their customers and what they look for in their dream home. This includes every floorplan, home automation, neighborhood amenities, home features and design details being constructed with their buyer’s family in mind.

Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans: (MACV) is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that has provided critical intervention assistance to homeless veterans and their families since 1990. In 2016, MACV comprehensively served over 1,729 veterans and their families throughout Minnesota with their mission to provide assistance to positively motivate veterans and their families who are experiencing other life crises. When immediate independent housing is not an option for veterans MACV offers 57 units of transitional housing in multiple Minnesota communities. Veterans may reside in the community-based housing for up to two years, although many veterans move to independent housing sooner.

Rebuilding Together Twin Cities: Rebuilding Together Twin Cities transforms the lives of low-income homeowners by improving the safety and health of their homes and revitalizing communities. They provide critical home repairs for homeowners in need, particularly older adults and individuals living with disabilities, families with children, and active and retired members of the armed services.
