ROMA (Remodeler of Merit Awards)℠ and Trillium Awards℠ Honor Remodeling Excellence
In its 33rd year, BATC’s ROMA Awards are presented to member remodelers for outstanding achievement in remodeling, recognizing creativity, design, and the remodeler’s ability to meet the client’s requirements. The 2014 ROMA awards included 70 entries in eight remodeling categories, many broken down by price for a total of 17 winners. A total of 30 remodeling firms participated with entries. Three firms earned two trophys: Aulik & Associates (for Interiors over $300,000 and Special Outdoor Over $150,000); Lucid Builders (for Additions Under $400,000 and Total House $350,000 to $600,000), New Spaces (for Kitchens Under $50,000 and Kitchens $50,000 to $100,000); and Revolution Design and Build (for Bathrooms over $50,000 and Total House Under $350,000).
Remodelers entered online by uploading before and after photographs, floor plans and design statements explaining the challenges and needs of the client, solutions devised by the remodeler, and the success of the project. Judging was completed by a panel of remodeling professionals from the Home Builders Association in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
For the first time, BATC’s Trillium Awards were extended to the vendors and trade partners of ROMA remodelers. BATC member companies that participated with the remodeler in the design and construction of any ROMA-entered home could enter the competition at their discretion. Four companies had six entries, with two winners.
