ROSEVILLE, MN (August 11, 2015) – The Builders Association of the Twin Cities (BATC) was honored with two national awards in just over two weeks. BATC Executive Director David Siegel was recognized by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) as this year’s Executive Officer of the Year, BATC as a whole was selected by Meeting Professionals International (MPI) as this year’s recipient of the RISE Award for Organizational Achievement.

Siegel was selected by the NAHB executive board based on his extensive and successful contributions to BATC, his deep involvement in NAHB as well as his numerous contributions to other executive officers. He was chosen for this honor out of the more than 300 HBA executives across the country. This award is not only a win for Siegel, but a win for all of BATC.

“While we of course know how dedicated and committed David is to BATC, it’s great to see the rest of the country take notice,” said BATC President Chris Contreras. “I think it says a lot about what we are doing as an association when the national organization recognizes your leadership as someone who is doing great things.”

For their MPI RISE Award BATC was specifically recognized for its use of meetings and events to support its five key goals. The criteria included attendee reach, member value, profitability, and staff time.

“We’ve worked hard to be more efficient while creating high quality events and are honored to be selected for this award,” said BATC Executive Director David Siegel. “We pride ourselves on our organizing great BATC events, this recognition means a lot to us.”

Sigel was honored during NAHB’s Association Excellence Awards luncheon in Pittsburgh on July 23rd. BATC was recognized during MPI’s August 3rd RISE Award event in San Francisco.
