ROSEVILLE, MINN. (February 9, 2015) — While home shopping is definitely an adult activity, families with children aren’t left out of this Spring’s Parade of Homes and Remodelers Showcase. A fun coloring contest and downloadable childrens’ book will keep kids occupied, with contest winners getting an invitation to a Spring egg hunt.

Coloring Contest

A pull-out coloring page (of Jane Magnolia and Roberta Rabbit) is included in the Spring Parade of Homes Guidebook, and information on downloading a copy of the coloring page is included in the Remodelers Showcase Guidebook. Children 12 and under are invited to color away, and send their creations to the Builders Association of The Twin Cities. Five winners will be randomly selected, and invited along with their families to take part in an egg hunt held in the KARE 11 Backyard on April 11th at 10:00 am. Winners will be treated to a tour of the station, hot chocolate, treats and of course, prize-filled eggs to find and take home.

Downloadable Children’s Book

Jane Magnolia, featured in the coloring contest, is a real magnolia tree planted in the KARE 11 Backyard during last summer’s rebuild. Kids can also download *Jane Magnolia Finds Her Forever Home* on the ParadeofHomes.org Web site. The story features Mama Oak who watched over the nursery where Jane was born, her best friend Laura Lilac, Bobby and the Worker Bees and Belinda, the human who Jane meets in her new home.

Information and directions to enter and download are found in both Guidebooks and online at ParadeofHomes.org.
