A free, comprehensive guidebook provides complete information about the tour, including maps, descriptions and images of all the homes, and will be available at area Holiday Stationstores beginning on Feb. 10, 2018.

A comprehensive companion website offers a variety of search filters plus additional information about each builder at www.ParadeofHomes.org. Online visitors can use the Tour Planner to map routes between selected homes and save and share homes of interest with family and friends.

Editorial in the guidebook includes our cover story on a real family’s homebuilding experience, a calendar for special Parade of Homes events and a Style section which showcases the latest home design and décor trends that can be seen in this spring’s tour.

The Parade of Homes will feature the Green Path Energy Efficiency Tour sponsored by Xcel Energy. Homes on this tour are a part of the utility companies’ efficient new home construction program and go above and beyond code requirements to deliver greater energy savings. All these homes can be found online at paradeofhomes.org by filtering for “Green Path Energy Efficiency Tour” and some are noted in the Guidebook with a green flag.

There are also 273 homes on this spring’s tour that were tested by an independent energy rater, and have been assigned a HERS (Home Energy Rating System) rating. These homes can show visitors a Green Path Home Performance Report (HPR) that graphically explains the home’s energy test results and allow homebuyers to compare expected energy use between homes.

The lowest priced home is #217 at $198,000. The two-bedroom, two-bath rambler is located in Cambridge and built by Semler Construction, Inc.

The most expensive home at $2,500,000 is home #262, located in Stillwater from Lecy Bros. Homes & Remodeling. The four-bedroom home on Cloverdale Lake is one of this spring’s five Dream Homes.

There are a total of 39 homes priced over $1,000,000 and 27 priced under $300,000. The total value of all homes on the tour is $269,550,263.

Homes are located throughout the region, with Lakeville (42), Plymouth (33), Woodbury (27) and Lake Elmo (21), having the most homes to tour. Closer in, Minneapolis, Mendota Heights, Golden Valley and Shoreview are all represented on the tour, with Edina coming in with six homes.  Outlying cities with Parade Homes include Faribault, Watertown, Princeton and Somerset, WI.
