Facts About the Fall 2012 Parade of Homes Remodelers Showcase®
• The 25th annual Fall Parade of Homes Remodelers Showcase is presented by the Builders Association of the Twin Cities (BATC) members.
• The tour runs from September 28th to the 30th, with 89 remodeled homes open Friday from 1:00 to 7:00 pm and on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 6:00 pm. A total of 69 professional remodeling firms are participating in the tour.
• All the remodeled homes are free to tour with the exception of one Dream Remodeled Home that requests a $5 donation to the BATC Foundation to enter. The Dream Remodeled Home is a whole house remodel #R2 by Schrader & Companies located at 5110 Alfred Road in Golden Valley.
• A comprehensive Guidebook includes information including maps and photos or illustrations of all the remodeling projects, and is available, free of charge, at area Holiday Stationstores. Four families share their real remodeling experiences in the guidebook, and one family is featured on the cover.
• Four remodeling projects on the tour have been certified by Minnesota’s Green PathSM. This new energy and green building program is being extended to remodeling, so each of these homes will include a Home Performance Report (HPR), the centerpiece of MN Green Path. The HPR will define all of the energy and green features included in the remodeling work.
• A brand new, easier to navigate website was launched in August, at www.ParadeofHomes.org or www.ParadeofHomes.com . A mobile site (m.ParadeofHomes.org) and an iPhone app (Remodelers Showcase) is also available.
• Visitors can plan to include 12 events held during the tour by five of the remodelers. The events range from wine tours (sip while seeing the project) to kitchen design workshops.
• Homes are located throughout the region, with the most located in Edina (19) and Minneapolis (15).
• Projects range from kitchens (63) and additions (27) to whole house remodels (18), basements (14) and garages (2).
