• In its 65th year, the Parade of Homes is presented by the Builders Association of the Twin Cities (BATC) members.
• The tour runs from September 7th through the 29th, with 324 new homes open Thursdays through Sundays from noon to 6:00 pm.
• All the homes are free to tour with the exception of three Dream Homes that each request a $5.00 donation to the BATC Foundation to enter. The three homes are #108 by Nor-Son, Inc. in Chaska at $1,870,000; #114 by Charles Cudd DeNovo in Wayzata at $1,994,000; and #282 by Divine Custom Homes in Afton at $2,180,000
• A comprehensive Guidebook includes information including maps and photos or illustrations of all the homes, and will be available, free of charge, at area Holiday Stationstores beginning on August 23rd. Stories inside include home buying experiences from two area families; a photo “look book” from the Spring Parade of Homes Dream Homes; and a Style section calling out some of the most interesting new products, finishes and features in new homes.
• For more in-depth searches and information about each builder, the website, www.ParadeofHomes.org, is both easy to use and convenient. An interconnected mobile site for smart phone and tablet users access the same information. Additionally, a Trip Planner feature allows visitors to plan a map route between selected homes.
• The Parade of Homes will once again feature an Energy Tour, sponsored by Xcel Energy. Each of the 140 featured homes have been tested by an independent energy rater to earn a HERS (Home Energy Rating Score) and has its own Home Performance Report (HPR) that graphically explains the home’s HERS score as well as other energy and green features.
• The lowest priced home is #194, a $179,900 four-bedroom single-family home by Shamrock Builders and located in Big Lake.
• The most expensive home is #282, is one of our Dream Homes. The Afton home is by Divine Custom Homes and priced at $2,180,000.
• Two homes on the tour are priced under $200,000. A total of 37 homes are priced under $300,000. There are 112 homes priced between $300,000 and $400,000, the most populated $100K spread. There are 65 homes priced between $400,000 and $500,000. A total of 123 homes are priced between $500,000 and $1,000,000; 21 homes are priced between $1,000,000 and $2,000,000, with one home priced over two million dollars.
• A total of $180,223,409 dollars in housing is represented in the 2013 Fall Parade of Homes.
• Homes are located throughout the region. Close-in, there are two homes each in the cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, and 10 in Edina. Homes are also located in the exurban cities of Big Lake, Elko/New Market, Wyoming and New Prague. The growing suburbs account for the largest number of homes and include 23 in Plymouth, 22 each in Blaine and Woodbury, 19 in Lakeville and 16 in Maple Grove.
