A free, comprehensive Guidebook provides complete information about the tour, including maps, descriptions and images of all the homes, and will be available at area Holiday Stationstores beginning on August 25, 2017.

A comprehensive companion website offers a variety of search filters plus additional information about each builder at www.ParadeofHomes.org. An interconnected mobile site lets smartphone and tablet users access the same information.

Online visitors can use the Trip Planner to map a route between selected homes (and later access them via their mobile device), find inspiration with over 8,500 interior and exterior images on the photo gallery and access a wide variety of resources for homeowners and buyers.

Editorial in the Guidebook includes our cover story: a “Real Family” home building experience from a family choosing to build a multi-generation home for them and grandma. There’s a calendar for special Parade of Homes events and a Style section which showcases the latest home design and décor trends from the homes on last June’s Artisan Home Tour.

The Parade of Homes will once again feature the Green Path Energy Tour, sponsored by Xcel Energy. This spring, 257 (64 percent) of the Parade Homes were tested by an independent energy rater, and have been assigned a HERS (Home Energy Rating System) rating. These homes can show visitors a Green Path Home Performance Report (HPR) that graphically explains the home’s energy test results and allow homebuyers to compare expected energy use between homes.

The lowest priced home is #387 at $175,900. The two-bedroom, one-bath rambler is located in Cambridge and built by Semler Construction, Inc.

The most expensive home at $2,285,000 is home #220, located in Minnetrista from Charles Cudd Co. The five-bedroom home appeared on last June’s Artisan Home Tour and is free to tour this fall.

There are a total of 36 homes priced over $1,000,000 and 22 priced under $300,000. The total value of all homes on the tour is $233,966,784.

Homes are located throughout the region, with Lakeville (39), Plymouth (25), Blaine (20) and Lake Elmo (20), having the most homes to tour. Closer in, Minneapolis, St. Paul, Mendota Heights, Hopkins, Oakdale and Roseville are all represented on the tour, with Edina coming in with seven homes. Outlying cities with Parade Homes include Faribault, Watertown, Princeton and Somerset, WI.
