In its 28th year, the Builders Association of the Twin Cities (BATC) is proud to present the Parade of Homes Remodelers Showcase. This Fall, visitors can tour 63 remodeled homes the final weekend of the Parade of Homes. Homes are open Friday, October 2nd from 1:00 to 7:00 pm and Saturday-Sunday, October 3rd and 4th from noon to 6:00 pm. Entry to all the homes is free with the exception of two Dream Remodeled Homes that request a $5 donation to support the BATC Foundation.

Guidebook Features all 63 Homes and More

The comprehensive magazine-style Guidebook features photos, maps and descriptions for all of the homes to help visitors plan their tour. Guidebooks are free and can be picked up at any area Holiday Stationstore.

There are also a variety of interesting articles to read for inspiration and information. Four of the families whose remodeled homes are on the tour share their remodeling experiences in text and photos. There’s an article on Outdoor living trends; and the Artisan Style section, which showcases trendy new products and styles from our June Artisan Home Tour remodeled homes. Readers can also check out the event calendar to plan their tour to include a wine tasting or informative seminar during the weekend.

Prize Sweepstakes

The public can register to win a Backyard Barbecue Party for 20 catered by the Rack Shack with a guest appearance by radio personality Brian (BT) Turner. They can also register to win one of ten WendyDoodles adult coloring books. Registration forms for both sweepstakes are included in the Guidebook and online at ParadeofHomes.org.

Dream Homes Benefit BATC Foundation

The BATC Foundation Dream Remodeled Homes help the Foundation build and remodel homes for area families in need by asking visitors to donate $5 at the door. This Fall, the Foundation selected two very unique remodeled homes to feature. Remodeled Home #R26 is located in Burnsville with renovation by Healthy Exposure Construction. The whole house makeover was completed for homeowners who needed a home that maintained the highest level of indoor air quality. Home #R7 is a remodeled condominium in the former Children’s Hospital in St. Paul. Vujovich Design Build turned two of the 1980s condo units into one beautiful home that fits this family’s modern lifestyle.

Guidebook readers can also learn more about the BATC Foundation and two of the projects they will be completing in 2015 — a fully accessible home in partnership with Homes for our Troops, and a renovated group home in partnership with Homeward Bound.

Integrated Online Options

The comprehensive website at www.ParadeofHomes.org includes all the entries easily searchable on the map or by remodeler name or project type. The Trip Planner lets visitors save their favorites and then maps a route between selected homes. Integrated company pages provide more information about the remodeling firm. The mobile site at m.Paradeofhomes.org is fully integrated with the main site, and lets smart phone and tablet users search for remodeled homes, learn more about remodelers and take advantage of the Trip Planner. You can also view the entire guidebook online by using our Digital magazine link on the home page.

Projects of All Types

The remodeled homes on tour feature virtually every type of remodeling. As usual, kitchens are one of the most popular projects, with all but seven homes including at least some work in the kitchen. Visitors can see 14 additions, at least 28 baths, 17 family rooms, seven whole house remodels and five teardowns. Lower levels, owners’ suites, porches and decks are all on display, showing the latest in design, materials, products and construction techniques from the region’s best professional remodelers.

####Remodeled Homes Located Across the Extended Metro Area
Much of the Twin Cities is represented in this Fall’s Remodelers Showcase, with homes located in 26 cities across the metro region. There are 11 remodeled homes in Edina and seven in Minneapolis. Apple Valley and St. Paul each have four homes, with three each in Chanhassen, Excelsior, Minnetonka, Stillwater and Woodbury.
