For nearly 30 years, the Builders Association of the Twin Cities (BATC) has proudly presented the Parade of Homes Remodelers Showcase to help area homeowners meet remodelers and see their work. It’s designed to show how remodeling helps families stay in their community when their homes no longer fit their needs.

This Fall, visitors can tour 57 remodeled homes the final weekend of the Fall Parade of Homes, Friday, September 30 from 1:00 to 7:00 pm and Saturday-Sunday, October 1-2 from noon to 6:00 pm. The public is welcome to tour all of the homes free of charge with the exception of two Artisan Dream Remodeled Homes that request a $5 donation to support the BATC Foundation.

Guidebook Features all 57 Homes and More

The comprehensive magazine-style Guidebook features photos, maps and descriptions for all of the homes to help visitors plan their tour. Guidebooks are free and can be picked up at any area Holiday Stationstore. There are also a variety of interesting articles to read for inspiration and information.

We’ve interviewed four “real families” to share their remodeling experiences, plus tips to help homeowners get started on their own adventure. Readers will find a quick primer on LED lighting from our Green Path sponsor, Xcel Energy as well as a calendar of informative and tasty events that several remodelers are hosting during the tour. Parents will appreciate the top family-friendly appliance review from Warners’ Stellian, and everyone will love the latest in new products, finishes and accessories in photos from the remodeled homes on our Summer Artisan Home Tour.

Artisan Dream Homes Benefit BATC’s Charitable Arm

The Artisan Dream Remodeled Homes help the BATC Foundation build and remodel homes for area families in need by asking visitors to donate $5 at the door. This Fall, the Foundation selected two unique remodeled homes located in Edina. Artisan Dream Remodeled Home #R28 is by James Barton Design Build, the other is home #R31 by Traditions by Donnay Homes. Both show how a talented remodeler can give an old home new life and make it supremely livable for today’s lifestyle.

Integrated Online Options

The comprehensive website at www.ParadeofHomes.org includes all 57 entries which are easily searchable by location, remodeler or project type. Integrated company pages provide more information about each remodeling firm, too. Our digital magazine link on the home page lets you read the entire guidebook online, and the Trip Planner is designed to save favorites and then map a convenient route between them. The mobile site at m.Paradeofhomes.org lets smart phone and tablet users search all the homes and remodeler information, and if you create a Trip Planner on your computer, you can access it on your mobile device as you tour.

Projects of All Types

Bathroom and kitchen renovations remain the top two most popular projects nationwide, and the Twin Cities is no exception, with 35 new kitchens and 21 new bathrooms, plus plenty more in the 18 main level remodels, 10 whole house renovations and eight teardowns. Visitors can see seven additions, 10 lower level finishes, and 18 great room/family room projects. There are lots of gorgeous new bedrooms, mud rooms, offices, exteriors, porches and decks to tour, all showing the latest in design, materials, products and construction techniques from the region’s best professional remodelers.

Remodeled Homes Located Across the Extended Metro Area

Much of the Twin Cities is represented in this Spring’s Remodelers Showcase, with homes located in 21 cities across the metro region. There are eight remodeled homes in Edina and seven in St. Paul. Both Minneapolis and Plymouth have five homes open, with Bloomington and Woodbury each with four remodeling projects.
