The Housing First Minnesota Foundation/HomeAid Minnesota is pleased to announce its 2022 president and board of directors. A longtime member of Housing First Minnesota, Kate Hamilton of Woodbury-based Custom One Homes, was elected to serve as the Foundation’s president for 2022 and will lead a 16-member board during her year-long term.

As president of the Foundation’s board, Hamilton will help provide strategic direction for the charitable arm of Housing First Minnesota, an association of builders, remodelers, suppliers, and trade partners. Hamilton will help guide the Foundation as it seeks to achieve its vision to end homelessness in Minnesota.

As a passionate advocate for the homebuilding industry and an active member of the association and Foundation, Hamilton brings unique experience to help lead the Foundation. Hamilton is set to guide the Foundation through several large build projects in 2022, which will have a lasting impact providing housing for those in need in our community, with a particular focus on addressing veteran homelessness.

“The Housing First Minnesota Foundation and the incredible work it does is near and dear to my heart,” said Hamilton. “Helping the housing industry come together to use its talents to provide safe, dignified housing for those in need in our community is a privilege. I’m excited to help lead this organization so we can continue the life-changing work helping to end homelessness in Minnesota.”

The Housing First Minnesota Foundation is currently working to finish two Housing for Heroes projects in Minneapolis that will be used as transitional housing for veterans operated by the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans. One of the new homes will also feature an accessory dwelling unit for additional housing options for veterans in need.
