ROSEVILLE, MINN.  — Housing First Minnesota inducted its 2024 board chair at its annual meeting held last week at the Golden Valley Country Club. Art Pratt, president of construction operations for Pratt Homes, was elected to serve as the association’s board chair and will lead a 17-member board during his year-long term.

As board chair, Pratt will help provide strategic direction for the association’s 1,200 members and affiliate partners during his term. Pratt has long been active in the association, and he has served on the association’s board for several years as a builder member.

As an industry leader with nearly 30 years of experience as a homebuilder, Pratt brings a comprehensive knowledge of the market to lead the association. He is prepared to help the association continue its efforts to bring the housing industry together to advocate for homeownership in Minnesota.

“Despite the impacts of mortgage rates over the last year, demand for homes at all price points is strong,” said Pratt. “Our industry creates neighborhoods and communities that people call home. Leading this association is a great responsibility that I am proud to take on.”

Pratt graduated from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management with a Bachelor of Science in Business. Always involved in the family business, he worked as a carpenter at Pratt Homes during summers and school breaks before becoming a full-time employee after he graduated from college in 1994. Pratt has been at Pratt Homes ever since.

The Housing First Minnesota board chair and board of directors work diligently with the engaged staff team to remove the roadblocks to construction and support housing to provide the opportunity for homeownership for everyone in Minnesota.
