Results from a recent survey by the Builders Association of the Twin Cities (BATC) show that Lennar – Minneapolis/St. Paul was the region’s top ranked builder once again in 2016. Lennar has held the top spot since 2006. Rankings are based on annual gross revenue as reported by respondents for for-sale housing. Lennar reported gross revenue at $262 million for 519 single family and 63 multi-family homes (582 total) closed in the 2016 calendar year.

Following Lennar, the top ten home builders were CalAtlantic Homes with over $190 million in revenue and 503 housing units closed; followed by the PulteGroup with revenue of $177 million and 373 units; D.R. Horton, Inc. with $155 million revenue and 350 housing units; Mattamy Homes at $110 million and 280 units; Hanson Builders, Inc. with $81 million and 114 units; Robert Thomas Homes, Inc. with $69 million and 127 units; M/I Homes with $57 million and 144 units; Gonyea Homes, Inc. with $52 million and 59 units; and Eternity Homes, LLC with $50 million and 100 units.
Rankings are based on information provided by survey respondents. Respondent information is believed to be reliable. Each company has verified information to the best degree possible. Commercial construction firms building rental or senior housing were not included in this ranking. Kootenia Homes, LLC, Fieldstone Family Homes, Inc., Streeter & Associates, Paul Emmerich Construction, Inc., John Kraemer & Sons, Castle Gate Construction, Inc., and Swanson Homes, which according to Keystone Reports data, may have been included in the top 25, declined to participate.
