In its 28th year, the Builders Association of the Twin Cities (BATC) is proud to present the Parade of Homes Remodelers Showcase®. This spring visitors can tour 62 gorgeous remodeled homes from 52 talented and professional remodelers on March 27th from 1:00 to 7:00 pm and March 28th and 29th from noon to 6:00 pm. Entry to all the homes is free with the exception of one Dream Remodeled Homes that requests a $5 donation to support the BATC Foundation.

Guidebook (Available Now at Holiday Stationstores) Features all 61 Homes and More

The comprehensive Guidebook offers photos, maps and descriptions for all of the homes to make planning your tour easy. There are also a variety of interesting articles in the Spring Guidebook, including a kitchen style focus that includes a Q/A with local DJ and Foodie Brian Turner (BT) and his wife Lori (LeeTee); and photos from last Fall’s Remodeler of Merit Awards (ROMA) for remodeling excellence in the Twin Cities.

We’ve included stories detailing the remodeling experiences of four of the families whose homes are showcased on the tour. There’s an event calendar so visitors can include a wine tour or informative seminar during the weekend. And, the Guidebook has download instructions for a coloring contest for children 12 and under (winners get to participate in a Spring egg hunt at the KARE 11 Backyard), as well as directions to download our own children’s story about Jane Magnolia, one of the KARE 11 Backyard’s new residents.

Dream Homes Benefit BATC Foundation

The BATC Foundation Dream Remodeled Home this Spring is a lakeside residence in Chaska, #R20 by Xpand, Inc., that has been completely renewed for its homeowners. Visitors pay a $5 donation to tour, which helps the Foundation continue to build and remodel homes for area families in need. Guidebook readers can also learn more about the BATC Foundation and two projects they will be completing in 2015 — a fully accessible home in partnership with Homes for our Troops, and a renovated group home in partnership with Homeward Bound.

Integrated Online Options

The comprehensive website at www.ParadeofHomes.org includes all the entries easily searchable on the map or by remodeler name or project type. The Trip Planner maps routes between homes, and interconnected company pages provide more information about the remodeling firm. The mobile site at m.Paradeofhomes.org is fully integrated with the full site, and lets smart phone and tablet users search for remodeled homes, learn more about remodelers and take advantage of the Trip Planner. You can also view the entire guidebook online by using our Digital magazine link on the Parade of Homes website home page.

Projects of All Types

The remodeled homes on tour feature virtually every type of remodeling. Kitchens remain the most popular project, with all but five homes including at least some work in the kitchen. Visitors can see 18 additions, at least 22 baths, 17 family rooms, 11 whole house remodels and four teardowns. There are historic renovations and plenty of modern updates to tour, all featuring the latest and most innovative finishes, colors and styles.

Remodeled Homes Located Across the Extended Metro Area

Much of the Twin Cities is represented in this Spring’s Remodelers Showcase, with homes located in 27 cities across the metro region. There are 12 remodeled homes in Edina and seven in Minneapolis. Woodbury has five homes, Lakeville has four, while Bloomington, Plymouth and St. Paul each have three. Other remodeled homes are located in municipalities further from the center cities like Hudson, WI, Chaska, Blaine and Prior Lake. Closer in are homes in Golden Valley, Shoreview, St. Louis Park and Vadnais Heights.

The Builders Association of the Twin Cities is the leading voice for builders and remodelers. BATC represents 1,100 builders, remodelers, developers and industry suppliers with a mission of helping its members grow their businesses through marketing, advocacy and industry connections. BATC is widely recognized as a powerful force at the state Legislature and with state regulatory agencies. It’s also known for its signature home tour events: The Parade of Homes℠ and Remodelers Showcase®, and now the Artisan Home Tour℠ opening high-end homes and elite remodeling projects in June. In addition, BATC offers Minnesota’s Green Path℠, a growing new home and remodeling energy testing and certification program providing healthy, durable, energy-efficient homes to buyers and homeowners.
