Over 700 home building industry members attended the Builders Association of the Twin Cities (BATC) biggest event of the year, their red carpet Awards Gala on Thursday at Mystic Lake Casino Event Center. More than 151 awards were handed out during the Building Industry Gala, or BIG Night, to honor the top companies and individuals in the residential construction field.

The Gala culminated in the presentation of the coveted 2016 Builder of the Year to Homes by Tradition, Inc, 2016 Remodeler of the Year to Vujovich Design Build, Inc, and 2016 Associate of the Year to Twin City Fireplace & Stone Company, Inc.

“The members of the homebuilding industry are some of the most talented and hardworking professionals there are,” said Meg Jaeger, BATC  2016 President. “The BIG Night is our chance to celebrate the homes and communities they’ve built that truly make the Twin Cities a
better place to call home.”

In addition to recognizing industry leaders BATC also honored exceptional new homes with 21 REGGIE awards and honored outstanding remodeled projects with 16 ROMA awards (Remodeler of Merit Awards) from across the Twin Cities.

Other top awards presented included the Robert L. Hanson Service Award for industry service, the Building BATC Award for recruitment of new members, and Advocate of the Year for work by a member in the advocacy arena. BATC also bestowed Legislator of the Year awards to State Representative Jim Nash and Senator Melisa Franzen for their support of the housing industry at the Capitol. See these winners below.
